Guidelines for Preparing to Graduate with
Graduating and Completing the
MAPE Degree
1. There are three (3) times
when you
may graduate: August, January , and
MMay and August.
These dates correspond to you completing your last course in any one of
the Summer,
Fall, or SpringFall, Spring or Summer semesters.

If you do not follow the above schedule,
you will
have to pay the non-resident enrollment fee. For example, if you
complete
your last course in one semester - say the Fall - and apply for
graduation
in May, you will need to pay the non-resident enrollment fee of
$135.00
of for the Spring Semester.
All of these forms can
be downloaded from artsandsciences.virginia.edu/grad/forms/. The
application/fee
deadline for submission, for each semester, is listed on the
respective form.
This fee is subject to
change.
2. To apply to graduate, you must
submit the
Master's Degree Application Form and the Final Defense Form. You will
also have
to submit the Application for Graduate Enrollment as a Non-Resident, if
you do
not follow the above schedule. All of these forms can be
downloaded from artsandsciences.virginia.edu/grad/forms/.
3. You may also obtain
these forms
or graduate application packet from the Graduate Admissions Office at
438
Cabell Hall. If you are away, contact Doris Lamb at 434-924-6741
or by
e-mail at dmg2u@virginia.edu, and she will mail this packet to you.
4. AAfter completing these
the
above mentioned forms, return all forms tothey should
be
returned to the

in the diploma ceremony on

Lawn with other students iin May. You will also be invited to and attend
the Physics
Graduation ceremonies, where you will be recognized with the other
graduates. Your
