Acceptance/Registration/Tuition



Acceptance

In order to take this course, high school students must have a minimum of a 3.0 overall GPA, and need to submit the following for approval prior to enrollment: an up-to-date high school transcript, a letter of permission from a parent or guardian, and a letter of recommendation from the Principal, Director, or Guidance Counselor of the high school referencing the PHYS 105 course. (Note to those writing the recommendation: this is a distance-learning course, students will have to perform independently and with less structure than that of a traditional classroom setting.) The letter of recommendation and permission may be sent via email to dklepper@virginia.edu.

Registration

Once approved by U.Va, students will register and pay for the course through the School of Continuing and Professional Studies by calling 434-982-5313. Tuition

(As of Spring 2004)

Pending the Board of Visitor’s approval, the tuition for this class for the 2004-2005 school year will be $185.00 per credit hour for in-state students. This class will count for three undergraduate credit hours. There will also be a technology fee of $15.00, and a $25.00 materials fee for lessons on CDs. For in-state students, the tuition and fees for the course total $595.00.
