Every week homework problems will be assigned, as from the list shown below. Problems are to be returned in the lock-boxes located in the basement of the Physics building (from the classroom, go down two floors, the boxes are opposite the vending machines). Homework must be turned in by 2 pm of the date indicated. Problems returned after the deadline will receive a grade of 0. Solutions to the homework problems will be posted in the hallway next to the classroom and on the web.
You are encouraged to work together with fellow students to discuss homework concepts, and you are allowed to work out the solutions together. Each problem set handed in should include EITHER the honour pledge (if you did it by yourself) OR a statement indicating the name of the student with whom the work was done. Be aware that, when working together with a fellow student, you should actually attempt to solve the problems together, not just copy answers and solutions.Gathering of students to compare solutions in the vicinity of the lockboxes just before turning the problems in will not be tolerated: it will be considered a violation of the Honour Code and will be reported accordingly.. Homework will count for 20% of the final grade. To grade the homework, each week the Teaching Assistant will randomly choose two problems among the assigned ones and grade them.
