Week 8: Overview of Resources II

Readings

Browse through the following materials for resources that can be used in a high school physics class. If you do not teach high school physics, you may need to make some adjustments, but this assignment assumes that you do. Be sure to read the overview (or whatever it is called) to make sure you understand what the main point of the project (curriculum/lab/software/activity/etc.) is. Get some idea of the cost for you to use this in your classroom. Is this project a major curriculum change for you or can you add it to your repertoire of teaching tools?

A list of the resources available for this class can be found in Resources, although we provide links to the material again below. All this material is password protected and cannot be used or given to other individuals unless you have rights to use the copyrighted material. Several of the vendors have given us access to this material for the sole purpose of teaching this class. Please do not abuse their copyrighted material, or we will not be able to use it in the future.

During this week you will investigate the following resources:

  1. Modeling
  2. Constructing Physics Understanding (CPU)
  3. PASCO
  4. Vernier
  5. Interactive Lecture Demonstrations
  6. Ranking Task Exercises in Physics
