- The upper blue dotted line represents the upper bound on Q2 when the spectrometer is at its largest angle θ = 135°.
- The middle blue dotted line represents the lower bound on Q2 when the spectrometer is at its smallest angle θ = 12°.
- The lower blue dotted line represents the lower bound on Q2 at 12° with "4-pass beam" of energy E = 8.8 GeV.
- The solid vertical lines represent the limits on the energy transfer ν, when the spectrometer has its maximum magnetic fields. The region to the right of this window, corresponding to lower energy scattered particles, is accessible in principle by reducing these fields.
- The above calculations were made using the proposed parameters for the Medium Acceptance Device (MAD) published in the winter 2004 version of the Hall A pre-Conceptual Design Report (ps).
