Annual Eservices Password Reset
What's Happening:
ITS requires that all users change their
Eservices password every year. Here are some instructions for doing that,
tailored to people in our department.
How to Change Your Eservices Password:
- If you use any mobile devices (phones, tablets) to read your UVa email,
put them in "airplane mode." If you don't do this, your device will repeatedly
try to log in with your old password and will cause a lockout.
- If you use more than one desktop or laptop computer, log out of all but one of them.
These devices might also try to log in with your old password.
- On your desktop or laptop computer, close out your email
application (Outlook, Mac Mail, Thunderbird, etc.).
- Close/Disconnect any mapped network drives that you may have.
- Go to https://password.virginia.edu and change your password.
- With your mobile device(s) still in airplane mode, change your email
password to the password you created in step 5 above on each device. On
Android and certain other mobile devices, you may have to delete the email
account from the device and set it up again in order to change the password.
- Log out of your computer and wait 15 minutes, then log back in.
- Take your device(s) out of airplane mode.
- If you use other desktop or laptop computers, log into them and reset your
password there if necessary.
- If you're a Windows user who also uses our departmental network file
servers, you should also change your Galileo password to match your Eservices
password. You can do this by visiting Galileo's web site:
http://galileo.phys.virginia.edu
and clicking the "change password" link on the left-hand side of the page.
If you need any help with this, please contact the Physics computer
support people at physics-comp@virginia.edu. We'll be glad to assist.
