Syllabus.tex is a Scientific Workplace file. It is the best choice if you have Scientific Word.

Syl.tex is a plain LaTex file. Use this if you do not have Scientific Word.

In the same .../743/syl directory, you may also find .dvi and .ps files corresponding to syl.tex.
