Try this first: -------------- This will restart the elog daemon, without interrupting anyone who is currently using the elog. They won't even know you did anything. 1. log onto anton.phys.virginia.edu 2. become super-user (root) [username@anton ~]$ su - 3. type: [root@anton ~]# killall -HUP elogd If that doesn't work, try this: ------------------------------- If anyone is using the elog, they will most likely lose any information they were working on, but presumably elog was down anyways. 1. log onto anton.phys.virginia.edu 2. become super-user (root) [username@anton ~]$ su - 3. type: [root@anton ~]# service elogd restart 4. type: [root@anton ~]# killall -HUP elogd If neither of those work, then I don't know what to suggest at the moment... wait for me or Bryan to look into it.
