General Information:

The 18th International Spin Physics Symposium will be held October 6 - 11, 2008 in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA. The Symposium is open to all bona fide scientists regardless of citizenship or national origin. The International Spin Physics Symposium combines the High Energy Spin Symposia and the Nuclear Polarization Conferences so that all topics relevant to spin physics in nuclear and low to high energy reactions and associated fields will be included in the Symposium program.  For more information on the scientific program, registration and travel information, please click on the corresponding link located on the left-hand side of this page.

SPIN2008 will be conducted in accordance with IUPAP principles as stated in the ICSU-Document "Universality of Science" (sixth edition, 1989) regarding the free circulation of scientists for international purposes. In particular, no bona fide scientist will be excluded from participation on the grounds of national origin, nationality, or political considerations unrelated to science.

Observances of Yom Kippur will take place in NewComb Hall during the Symposium, under the auspices of the University Hillel Society. Jewish attendees at the symposium are welcome to join the University community in observance of Yom Kippur. For more information please go to http://www.uvahillel.org.
