Conference site:  The conference will be held at the NewComb Hall, the University's student center. The street address for NewComb Hall is: 400 Emmet St. South, Charlottesville, VA 22903 Parking: Hourly parking for visitors to the University can be found in several locations. The most convenient one is the Central Grounds Garage located on Emmet Street, directly below the University Bookstore (next to the NewComb Hall). The rate is $1.80/hr Mon-Sat 7:30am-5:00pm and lower after working hours and during weekends. However, you may want to walk to the NewComb Hall if your hotel is within walking distance, since the weather in Charlottesville could be quite enjoyable in the fall. Another option is to participate in the Culbreth Garage Occasional Parker Program. We will have about 50-100 dashboard permits $4/day or $24 for the entire conference available for purchasing at the conference registration table. The Culbreth Road Garage is about 0.3 miles from the NewComb Hall and a map can be found here or on the interactive map here (it's building 6 on this map). (Note that the Emmet/Ivy Garage Occasional Parker Program previously mentioned on this page will not be available for the SPIN2008 participants.) Local Transportation For transportation between the conference site and hotels or restaurants, one can take the free UTS buses, the CTS buses and the free trolley, or by walking (the best).
