This webpage provide information on how to get to Charlottesville. For conference locations and parking, see Map&Locations By Air: The closest airport to UVa is the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport (CHO, 10 miles). For airlines flying directly to this airport, see this university website. The other two airports that are reasonablly close to UVa are the Richmond International Airport (RIC, about 70 miles or 1.2 hours drive), the Washington DC-Dulles Airport (IAD, 130 miles, at least 2 hours drive on local roads, and up to 3 hours if taking I95/I64), and the Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA, less used). For all four airports: The Go Green Taxi provide hybrid transportation to/from UVa/C'ville from/to all four airports; The A Goff Airport Shuttle Transportation (also called "Van On the Go") provides shared shuttle ride between CHO and the other three airports. If you do not arrive at CHO, you may take this shuttle to go to CHO first, then take a taxi to the conference site. See the CHO website for details; Taxi: the ride into UVa campus takes about 20 minutes and normally costs about $25 (including tip). See the CHO website for a list of taxi companies (make sure you write down their numbers if you arrive at night); From Richmond International Airport (RIC) Suvana Richmond RIC Airport Shuttle: offers shared shuttle service to C'ville; Amtrak provide train service from Richmond, VA, Main Street Station (RVM) to Charlottesville (CVS) on a fixed schedule, the cost is about $42; There is no known convenient public transporation between RIC and C'ville otherwise; From Washington DC-Dulles Airport (IAD) The taxi cost is about $180 according to the Washington Flyer Taxi website; The Greyhound provides trips between IAD and C'ville. Amtrak provide train service from Washington DC, Union Station (WAS) to Charlottesville (CVS) on a fixed schedule, the cost is about $25; Sorry, we did not find any shuttle company providing service from IAD to C'ville.
